 11) Lubricate the lube fitting.
 12) Apply a maximum of 300 pound-feet (400.7 newton-meters) of torque to the tool gage.
 NOTE: The Rotation Check Gage must turn to make sure the

 trunnion will turn correctly when installed.

 13) Remove the bearing cap and the G32005-11 Rotation Check Gage.
 14) If the Rotation Check Gage did not rotate when torque was applied, then you must begin the "Install Body Landing Gear" procedure again.
 NOTE: The probable cause of the Rotation Check Gage not
____ turning is that the mating parts did not meet the approved wear limits.
 15) Use solvent to clean all sealant from the bearing surfaces and lubrication holes.
 16) Make sure that the grease can flow through the lubrication paths.

 CAUTION: WHEN INSTALLING THE INBOARD AND OUTBOARD TRUNNION
_______ BEARINGS, MAKE SURE THAT THE BEARING RETENTION KEY SLOT IN EACH BEARING CAP (7 AND 15) AND IN EACH LOWER BEARING HALF IS FACING FORWARD. INCORRECT INSTALLATION WILL PREVENT PROPER BEARING LUBRICATION OR ALIGNMENT OF THE BOLT HOLES BETWEEN THE TRUNNION SUPPORT AND THE BEARING CAP.
 (b)  Position the gear under the airplane so that the trunnion bearings are vertically aligned with the bearings in the airplane structure.
 NOTE: Make sure that the outboard trunnion bearing remains in
____ place on the machined surface of the trunnion. If the bearing is allowed to slide endwise it may be necessary to remove the spiral seal assembly (Section B-B, Fig. 402) to position the bearing on the trunnion bearing surface.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE TRUNNION (5) IS ALIGNED WITH THE BEARINGS
_______ PRIOR TO MATING THEM. A MISALIGNMENT MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL STRUT SUPPORT WHEN THE AIRPLANE WEIGHT IS APPLIED TO THE STRUT.
 (c)  Carefully lower the airplane until the upper caps and bearings are seated on the trunnion (5).
 NOTE: When installing the bearing caps (7 and 15), make sure
____ that the correct washers are used. On the outboard trunnion support (11), use countersunk washers (16) under boltheads (17) and plain washers (13) under nuts (12). On the inboard trunnion support (1), use chamfered countersunk washers (8) under boltheads (9) and chamfered washers (3) under nuts (2).
 (d)  Butter lubricate the threads, shank and bearing surface of the bearing cap boltheads (9 and 17) with grease just prior to the installation of the bearing caps (7 and 15).
 CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE INBOARD AND OUTBOARD TRUNNION
_______ BEARINGS, MAKE SURE THAT THE BEARING RETENTION KEY SLOT IN EACH BEARING CAP (7 and 15) AND IN EACH LOWER BEARING HALF IS FACING FORWARD AND THAT THE KEY IS IN THE SLOT. INCORRECT INSTALLATION WILL PREVENT PROPER BEARING LUBRICATION OR ALIGNMENT OF THE BOLT HOLES BETWEEN THE TRUNNION SUPPORT AND THE BEARING CAP.
 (e)  Install the outboard bearing cap (15), bearing retention key (14) and cap bolts (17).

 CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE INBOARD AND OUTBOARD TRUNNION
_______ BEARINGS, MAKE SURE THAT THE BEARING RETENTION KEY SLOT IN EACH BEARING CAP (7 and 15) AND IN EACH LOWER BEARING HALF IS FACING FORWARD AND THAT THE KEY IS IN THE SLOT.  (f)  Install the inboard bearing cap (7) with the lower bushing half (10) and bearing retention key (6) installed by using cap bolts (9).
 CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM TORQUE OR DAMAGE TO THE BOLTS

 MAY OCCUR.

 (g)  Tighten the outboard bearing cap bolts (17) to a lube torque value of between 11,000 to 12,000 pound-inches (2 places).
 CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM TORQUE OR DAMAGE TO THE BOLTS

 MAY OCCUR.
