 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  
Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

 (5)  Deflate the shock strut.
 WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE BODY UNLESS YOU DEFLATE THE SHOCK
_______ STRUT FULLY. THE AIR PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE VALVE OUT AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (a)  Remove the air valve cap and loosen the outer nut no more than two turns.
 NOTE: The hydraulic fluid will have bubbles immediately
____ while you decrease the pressure to the ambient. Deflate the shock strut slowly to prevent the leak of fluid through the air valve.
 (b)  Put a tray below the flow fuse (drain plug).

When you remove all the pressure on the shock strut, remove the flow fuse and drain the fluid (AMM 32-13-02/301).

Install the nylon sling to hold the shock strut in the compressed position.

Lift the airplane until the wheels are clear of the ground (Ref 07-11-01/201).

Put the axle jacks below each end of the truck beam

Procedure


 S 038-043
 (1)  
Remove the brake rod bolts from the yoke of the inner cylinder (13) (Fig. 804).

 (a)  
Move the brake rods away from the inner cylinder and attach the rods to the truck.


 NOTE: Lift or lower the end of the truck with the axle jacks.
____ This will release the load on the bolts if it is necessary.
