WING LANDING GEAR AXLE SLEEVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the axle sleeve from the axle for the wing landing gear (referred to as the axle sleeve).
(2)
The installation of the axle sleeve.
B.
The axle sleeve and the brake housing bushing have an touched fit on the landing gear axle. It is necessary to use the procedure of differential temperature to remove or install these components.

2. Wing Landing Gear Axle Sleeve Removal (Fig. 401)

A. General
(1)
You can not remove the axle sleeve if the brake housing bushing is on the axle.
(2)
This task includes the steps to remove the brake housing bushing.
(3)
It is not necessary to remove the wheel truck to do this task.

(1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

APPLY BMS 3-33 GREASE TO THESE AXLE SURFACES BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE AXLE SLEEVE.
