Supply hydraulic power from system 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (5)  
Lift the truck from the ground to let the truck to move at an angle 51 degrees 45 minutes (AMM 07-11-01/201).

 (a)  
Make sure the strut is fully extended and that the truck is at an angle of 51 degrees 45 minutes.

 (b)  
Disconnect the lever (6) at the lower rod end (4) and engage the hook (7) with the roller (8).

Adjust the Mechanical Lock (Fig. 501)


 S 825-007
 (1)  
Measure dimension A.

 (a)  
If the dimension is in tolerance, tighten the clamp bolts (10) to 1 - 3 pound-feet (1.3 to 4.0 Nm) and install lockwire.

 (b)  
If the dimension is not in tolerance, adjust the lock to get the correct clearance.

 (c)  
Remove the clamp (9).

 (d)  
Turn the roller support (11) up to get access to the bearing pad (12).

 (e)  
Remove the bearing pad.


 NOTE: You can hit the bearing pad lightly with a nylon
____ faced hammer to make the removal easier.
 (f)  If it is necessary, change the thickness of the shim (13) stack to adjust dimension A. Dimension A is 0.15 +0.01/-0.07 inch
 (3.8 +0.3/-1.8 mm) after you tighten the clamp (9).
 (g)  
Install the clamp (9).

 (h)  
Install and tighten the clamp bolts (10) to 12 - 36 pound-inches (1.4 - 4.1 Nm) and install lockwire.


 NOTE: You can use a longer bolt (10).

 (2)  
Make sure the wing landing gear is in the down and locked position, and then do the step below:

 (a)  
Make sure the dimension between the spring housing and the lower pushrod nut (16) is 0.03 +/-0.01 inch (0.8 +/-0.3 mm).

 (3)  S 825-009If the dimension is not in tolerance, adjust to get the correct dimension: (a) Loosen the upper pushrod nut (14) and turn the pushrod (15) at upper wrenching flats.
 NOTE:____ You must see the pushrod end thru the inspection hole of the rod end fitting when you completed the adjustment.
 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THE DIMENSION IS NOT MORE THAN 0.56 INCH (14.2 MM). THE INCORRECT DIMENSION WILL PREVENT THE THREAD TO ENGAGE CORRECTLY.
 (b)  If you cannot see the pushrod, tighten the upper pushrod nut (14) against the rod end (3).
 NOTE:____ The distance between the relief shoulder of the pushrod thread and the bottom of the upper pushrod nut (14) is not more than 0.56 inch (14.2 mm).
