BODY GEAR UPPER DRAG STRUT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This subject contains two tasks:
-
The removal of the body-gear upper-drag-strut
-
The installation of the body-gear upper-drag-strut.
B.
To remove the upper drag strut, you must do these steps:
-Lift the airplane with jacks
-Remove the downlock actuator
-Sufficiently hold the upper drag strut
-
Remove the apex bolt assembly from the drag strut
-
Remove the spindle bolt assembly from the upper drag strut.
C.
To install the upper drag strut, you must do these steps:
-Prepare the lube inserts
-Put the drag strut in the correct position
-
Install the apex bolt assembly into the drag strut
-
Install the spindle bolt assembly into the upper drag strut
-
Install the downlock actuator.
