WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASKS BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Wing Landing Gear Door Lock Installation" (Ref 32-00-30/201).

Do this task: "Body Landing Gear Door Lock Installation" (Ref 32-00-30/201).

Make sure there is no pressure to hydraulic system No. 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Remove the swivel joint (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the attach screws.
(b)
Remove the attach screws.
(c)
Remove the swivel joints. 1) Remove the O-rings and the backup rings from the swivel
joints. 2) Discard the O-rings and the backup rings.
(d)
Make sure the swivel turns freely.
1) If the swivel does not turn freely, disconnect the hose and discard the swivel.

D. Procedure
S 424-007
(1)
Install the swivel joint (Fig. 401):
(a)
Lubricate the new O-rings and backup rings with hydraulic fluid.
(b)
Install the O-rings and the backup rings on the swivel joints.
(c)
Put the swivel joints in their positions on the same actuators you removed them from.
(d)
Connect the swivel joints with the screws.
(e)
Tighten the screws to 45 (|5) pound-inches.
(f)
Install the lockwire on the safety screws.
(g)
Connect the hose to the swivel joint if it is disconnected.

_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (Ref 09-11-00/201).

_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Pressurize hydraulic system No. 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Do a check of the operation of the swivel joint:
(a)
Move the ground release handle for the doors for the main landing gear to the DOORS CLOSED position if not done.
(b)
Do a check of the swivel joints for leaks.
(c)
Push the lock override button for the lever lock mechanism.
(d)
Move the control lever for the landing gear to the UP position.
