Install the cotter pin.
(i)
If you cannot install the cotter pin or you can loosen the nut below the minimum torque after you install the cotter pin, do these steps: 1) Change the nuts with the other one or install a new one 2) Install AN960C1216L washer(s) adjacent to the nut.
(j)
Install the rod (13) to the carrier assembly (6) with the bolt (14), the bushing, the washers, and the self-locking nut.
(k)
Tighten the nut 25-50 pound-inches.
(l)
Install the carrier assembly (6) in its position on its bracket with the link (4) in the valve clevis.
(m)
Install the nylon washers between the link and the clevis.
(n)
Install the attach bolt (2) with the countersunk washer adjacent to the bolt head and the plain washer adjacent to the nut.
(o)
Tighten the self-locking nut 25-50 pound-inches.
(p)
Install the four bolts that attach the carrier to the valve with the thin washers adjacent to the bolt head and the nut.
(q)
Tighten the self-locking nut 25-50 pound-inches.
(r)
Install the carrier bolt (5) in the nutplate on the structure with the thin washer adjacent to the bolt head.
(s)
Install the mechanism cover (16) with the four screws (15).
(t)
Temporarily attach the connecting rod (13) to the rod end (8) with the bolt (7) but do not tighten it.

Do a check of the door open adjustment to make sure the valve operates correctly:

_______ OPERATION AREA. A FAST MOVEMENT OF THE DOORS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Move the ground release handle for the doors for the main landing gear to the DOORS CLOSED position.
(b)
Move the control handle for the landing gear to the UP position.
NOTE: This will open the doors to the fully open position.

(c) Install a rigging pin at point A through the two sides of the carrier and through the link.
NOTE: The installation of the rigging pin shows the
____ installation is in the permitted tolerance.
CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE RIGGING PIN. FAILURE TO REMOVE THE RIGGING PIN WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MECHANISM IF THE DOOR OPERATES.
(d)
Remove the rigging pin.
(e)
Adjust the door fitting to permit the rigging pin installation if it is necessary (Ref 32-12-00/501).
