MAINTENANCE MANUAL
B. The control handle module includes the landing gear control handle assembly, the landing gear control handle lock, the lock overide mechanism, the gear down indicator switches, the alternate gear extension switches, and the alternate flap extension switches.
C. The landing gear control handle assembly incorporates a roller which follows a detent plate as the handle is moved up or down. The detent plate is designed to hold the handle in any one of three positions, UP, OFF or DN. To change the control handle position, the spring-loaded handle is pulled out allowing roller to follow detent plate and move to the new position desired.
D. The landing gear control handle is normally blocked from movement to the UP position, by the control handle lock, until all four main gear trucks have tilted to the correct position and all body gear steering actuators have locked. The handle lock is operated by a solenoid that is controlled through the proximity switch electronics unit (PSEU) by inputs from the primary and alternate tilt sensor circuits and the body gear steering actuator lock circuits. The primary and alternate landing gear tilt circuits each consist of four sensors, one for each main gear (Ref 32-61-00/001). The body gear steering actuator primary and alternate lock circuits each consist of four sensors, one for each body gear steering actuator (Ref 32-53-00/001). When the tilt sensor circuit indicates that all gears are tilted and the body gear steering actuator lock circuit indicates that all body gear steering actuators are locked, the solenoid is energized. This disengages the control handle lock assembly, allowing the landing gear handle to be raised.
E. Manual override of the landing gear control handle lock may be accomplished by depressing the lock overide button which actuates the mechanical lock overide mechanism.
F. The landing gear, gear down indicator switches, are mounted in the module so that they are actuated by the roller on the end of the handle assembly when the handle is in the gear DN position. (Ref 32-61-00/001).
G. There are two lighted, push button, alternate gear extension switches located at the lower right corner of the module. The upper switch is used to initiate an alternate extension of the nose and body gears (Ref 32-35-00/001). The lower switch is used to initiate an alternate extension of the wing gears (Ref 32-36-00/001).
