C. Prepare for the Removal
S 494-043 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (Ref 09-11-00/201).
S 494-021 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASKS BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Remove pressure from hydraulic system No. 1 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Remove the Valve Mechanism. S 024-023
(1)
Remove the valve mechanism (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the cover (8) and the protective cover (13).
CAUTION: HOLD THE ROD WHEN YOU DISCONNECT IT FROM THE DOOR FITTING.
_______ THE SPRING LOAD IN THE VALVE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BOLT OR THE VALVE SLIDE.
(b)
Remove the bolt (7) to disconnect the rod (6) from the door fitting.
NOTE: Permit the rod and the valve to move to the door closed
____ position (valve slide extended).

(c)
Remove the four bolts (9) that attach the carrier (4) to the valve (2).
(d)
Remove the bolt (3) that attaches the carrier to the bracket.
(e)
Lower the carrier to remove the load between the valve clevis and the link (10).
(f)
Remove the bolt (11) that connects the link (10) to the clevis.
(g)
Remove the carrier with the rod attached.
(h)
Remove the bolt (5) to remove the rod (6) from the carrier.
