These conditions are necessary for this task:
(a)
The airplane is on jacks (AMM 07-11-01/201).
(b)
Electrical power is available (AMM 34-22-00/201).
(c)
The Intergrated Display System (IDS) is serviceable (AMM 31-61-00/501).
(d)
The Proximity Switch Electronic Unit (PSEU) is serviceable (AMM 32-09-03/501).
(e)
The hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 are serviceable (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Prepare for Test

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND LOCKS ARE INSTALLED IN ALL OF THE
_______ LANDING GEAR BEFORE YOU MOVE THE CONTROL LEVER. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCKS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure the ground locks are installed in the nose and main landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

Make sure that the RCDU GND TESTS switch is in the NORMAL position.

Do these steps to test the main gear and main gear door indication:
(a)
Move the control lever for the landing gear to the DN position. 1) Make sure the upper EICAS display does not show the GEAR DOOR (ADVISORY) message.
