WARNING: MAKE SURE THE ATTACH POINT FOR THE HOIST IS CORRECTLY IN THE
_______ KEYHOLE SLOT. FAILURE TO DO THIS CAN CAUSE THE HOIST TO FALL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THE HYDRAULIC PORTS ARE IN THE CORRECT LOCATION. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ACTUATOR IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE PORTS CORRECTLY.
(1) Use the sling and the hoist to put the actuator in the correct position between the trunnion and the hanger (19).
NOTE: You must put the actuator in the position with the rod end
____ adjacent to the shock strut trunnion. The UP port faces must be on the lower side of the actuator. The DN port faces must be on the top side of the actuator.

(2) Install the lubrication inserts (29) in the bolt (3).

(3) Install the head end of the actuator (1): (a) Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound to the inner surface of the bearing. (b) Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound to the mating journal surface of the bolt (3). (c) Clean the washer (21 and 22), the spacers (23, 25 and 26), the bolt shanks (3), the bushing faces and the pins. (d) Lubricate the washer (21 and 22), the spacers (23, 25 and 26), the bolt shanks (3), the bushing faces and pins with grease immediately before you install them. (e) Install the head end of the actuator between the lugs of the hanger (19): 1) Install these parts: a) The wide spacer (26) and the nylon washers (21 and 22) b) The spacer (25) and the spacer nut (24) c) The narrow spacer (23) d) The bolt (3). (f) Install the antirotation bolts (20) through the wide spacer (26) and the narrow spacer (23). (g) Tighten the nuts (28) and the washer (27) on the bolts (20). (h) Install the cotter pins. (i) Use the torque wrench adapter to tighten the spacer nut (24) to 1200 to 1800 pound-inches. (j) Install lockwire to the spacer nut (24) and the narrow spacer (23).

Install the rod end of the actuator on the trunnion:
(a)
Install the insert sleeve (34), the spacers (32), and the washers (33).
NOTE: You install these parts between the trunnion clevis and

the rod end of the actuator.
(b)
Install the bolt (5).
(c)
Install the nut (37) and the washer (38).
(d)
Tighten the nut (37) to 600 to 1200 pound-inches.
(e)
Loosen the nut (37) to the nearest castellation.
(f)
Install the lockbolt (39), the washer (36), and the nut (35).
