E. Procedure

(1) Move the ground release handle for the main landing gear to the UP position (Fig. 401).
NOTE: This moves the linkage for the safety module for the doors to
____ the position in Fig. 401. This also lifts the actuator release rod to permit the connection of the cam.

Make sure the dimension between the head end bolt and the spherical bearing on the structure is in the limits shown (Fig. 402).

Install the actuator (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the actuator (1) in its position: 1) Install the clevis on the head of the actuator on the two sides of the lug on the structure.
2) Make sure the shaft of the actuator release lever is on the forward side of the actuator.
(b)
Install the nylon washers (6 and 7) between the structure lug and the clevis.
CAUTION:_______HOLD THE BOLT WHEN YOU TIGHTEN IT. IF YOU PERMIT THE BOLT TO TURN, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CLEVIS LOCKING DEVICE.
(c)
Install the bushing (13) and the head end bolt (14).
NOTE: Install the head end bolt with the square head adjacent
____ to the milled flange of the clevis.
Do not lubricate the structural joints before or after you assemble the components.
