Install the rod No. 2.
(a)
Apply a thin layer of grease on the shank and threads of the bolts and other attachment parts.
(b)
Connect the rod to the trunnion drive crank.
(c)
Adjust the length of the rod until the bolt holes in the rod end and the bellcrank align.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ROD NO. 2 TO THE LEFT BELLCRANK,
_______ YOU MUST INSTALL THE BOLT WITH THE BOLT HEAD OUTBOARD. IF THE BOLT HEAD IS INBOARD, THE BOLT COULD HIT THE GROUND DOOR RELEASE ROD NO. 3. THIS COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(d) Install the bolt which connects the rod to the bellcrank.
NOTE: On the left bellcrank, you must install the bolt
____ with the head outboard. On the right bellcrank, you can install the bolt with the head inboard or outboard.
(e) Install and tighten the nut.

Remove the rigging pin ND-1 or ND-2.

Install the rod No. 1.
(a)
Apply a thin layer of grease on the shank and threads of the bolts and other attachment parts.
(b)
Connect the rod to the aft door hinge. 1) Hold the adjustable end of the rod in its position in the
aft door hinge. 2) Install the bushing, washers, and bolt. 3) Install and tighten the nut.
(c)
Connect the rod to the bellcrank. 1) Install the washers and the bolt with the bolt head
inboard.
2) Install and tighten the nut.
H. Adjustment

Measure the mismatch between the surface contours of the forward and aft doors, and make sure the maximum mismatch is not more than 0.18 inch.

If the maximum mismatch of surface contour that you measured was more than 0.18 inch, adjust the mismatch with the steps which follow:
(a)
Adjust the length of rod No. 1 to get a maximum mismatch of less than 0.18 inch.
(b)
Move the control lever for the landing gear to the UP position to retract the landing gear.
(c)
Make sure the maximum mismatch of the surface contours is less than 0.18 inch.
