Move the landing gear control lever to the DOWN position. 1) Make sure that the "GEAR DISAGREE" message disappears from the upper EICAS display. 2) Make sure that the "GEAR DOOR" message disappears from the upper EICAS display when the doors close. 3) Turn the EIU select switch on the P2-4 panel between L, C, and R. 4) Make sure the GEAR DISAGREE and GEAR DOOR messages do not appear for the L, C, and R EIUs. 5) Turn the EIU select switch on the P2-4 panel between L, C, and R. 6) Make sure the gear DOWN message appears on the upper EICAS display for the L, C, and R EIUs.
7) Make sure that the upper EICAS gear display shows a single box indicating "DN".

8) Make sure that the EICAS "GEAR" lower display indicates that all five gear doors are closed.
9) Make sure the EICAS GEAR lower display shows that all five
gear doors are closed for the L, C, and R EIUs.
Move the landing gear control lever to the "UP" position.
1) Make sure that the landing gear control lever moves to the
"UP" position without use of the lever lock overide switch.
NOTE: This verifies that the gear tilt proximity switch____
targets are installed correctly.
2) Make sure that the "DN" indication on the upper EICAS gear
display changes to the in-transit indication (a slashed
box) as soon as the landing gear starts retracting.
3) Make sure that the gear retracts and that the doors close.
a) Make sure the components attached to the landing gear
do not interfere with the landing gear as it retracts.
4) Make sure that the gear in-transit indication changes to
the gear "UP" indication on the upper EICAS gear display
when the landing gear has retracted.
5) Turn the EIU select switch on the P2-4 panel between the L,
C, and R EIUs.
