Install the washer (8) and the nut (2).

 (e)  
Tighten the nut (2) to 1400-1500 pound-inches.

 (f)  
Install the actuator release lever (9) on the shaft that has splines on the actuator.


 NOTE: Do not rotate the actuator release lever beyond its
____ operating range. Overrotation of the actuator release lever would damage the spacer inside the actuator.
 (g)  
Install the bolt (10), the washer (11) and the nut (12).

 (h)  
Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound on the bolt (14).

 (i)  Install the actuator release cam (15) on the head end bolt (14).
 NOTE: You must install the shims and washers in the opposite
____
 sequence that you removed them.

 The cams for the left and right sides have different shapes but they operate in almost the same function.
 (j)  
Install the nut (16) on the head end bolt (14).

 (k)  
Tighten the nut (16) to 50-80 pound-inches.

 (l)  
Put the rod end between the flanges of the actuator beam.

 (m)  
Make sure the blue dots on the actuator barrel and the rod end are aligned correctly.


 NOTE: The dots must align on the same side of the actuator.

 (n)  
Install the nylon washers (6 and 7) between the bearing and the flanges of the actuator beam.

 CAUTION:_______HOLD THE BOLT WHEN YOU TIGHTEN IT. IF YOU PERMIT THE BOLT TO TURN, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CLEVIS LOCKING DEVICE.

 (o)  
Install the bolt (5) with the square head in the milled recess.


 NOTE: You must not lubricate the bolt during or after the
____
 installation.

 (p)  
Install the bushing (4), the washer (3) and the nut (2) in the rod end.

 (q)  
Tighten the nut (2) on the rod end to 1400-1500 pound-inches.

 (r)  
Connect the actuator release rod (17) to the actuator release cam (15): 1) Install the bolt (21), the washer (18), the nut (20), and


 the cotter pin (19).

 (4)  
Adjust the differential output rods (17) for the wing landing gear.

 (a)  
Disconnect the linkage rods from the door actuator beams.

 (b)  
Move the ground release handle for the main landing gear to the DOOR CLOSED position.

 (c)  
Extend the door actuators until the internal mechanical locks engage.


 NOTE: The locks engage in the doors closed position.

 (d)  
Push on the piston rod to move it to the retract position.

 (e)  
Make sure the piston rod does not retract when you push on it.

 (f)  
Make sure the differential drums and the actuator release levers are against the stops.

 (g)  
While looking at the output shaft of the differential safety valve assembly, rotate the differential drums against the stops. 1) For the left side drums, rotate the differential output rod

 in the counterclockwise direction. 2) For the right side drums, rotate the differential output rod in the clockwise direction.

 (h)  
Turn the left and the right actuator release levers against the stop.


 NOTE: This will make the distance between the lever and the
____
 cam a maximum.

 (i)  Turn the actuator barrel in the direction that will cause the minimum dimension between the cam and the release lever roller.
 NOTE: This will also remove the play between the clevis on the
____ actuator and the attach lug on the structure.
 (j)  
Adjust the rods to get the dimensions between the cams and the rollers shown (Fig. 402).
