(n) (o) Make a mark on the masking tape at the lower edge of the straightedge to make a note of the OFF position.Make a second index mark on the masking tape at a point 0.5 inches below the OFF index mark.
NOTE:____ This will show the minimum lever movement necessary before the landing gear doors start to close.
(p) Move the control lever slowly to the DN position.
NOTE:____ Follow the movement of the top surface of the control lever while you hold the straightedge horizontally.
(q) Make sure the lower edge of the straightedge gets to the second index mark on the masking tape before the landing gear doors start to close.
NOTE:____ Put a person on the outer side of the airplane to tell when the doors start to close.
(r) (s) (t) (u) When the landing gear doors start to close, move the control lever to the DN position and into the detent. 1) Make sure that the landing gear doors close. 2) Make sure the door open indication goes out of view on the EICAS GEAR display.Remove the masking tape from the P2-3 panel.Pull the control lever, in a straight direction, out of the DN detent.Move the control lever from the DN position to the OFF position. 1) Measure the force necessary to move the lever.
NOTE:____ Apply the force at a right angle at the end of the lever.
2) Make sure that the force necessary is not more than 11 pounds.

doors.
(v) Move the control lever from the OFF position to the UP
position.
1) Measure the force necessary to move the lever.
NOTE: Apply the force at a right angle at the end of the____

position.

(x) Move the control lever from the OFF position to the DN

3) Make sure the landing gear doors close.
(y) Move the control lever to the OFF position.
