Procedure
S 434-010
(1)
If it is necessary to install the adapters (23, 27 and 28), do these steps (Fig. 401):
(a)
Lubricate the new packing (20, 21, 24, 25, 30, and 31), the backup rings (22, 26, and 29) and the adapters (23, 27, and 28) with hydraulic fluid or Skydrol Assembly Lube.
(b)
Install the packing (20, 21, 24, 25, 30, and 31), the backup rings (22, 26, and 29) and the adapters (23, 27, and 28) in the ports of the actuator.
S 424-011
(2) Connect the head end of the actuator (Fig. 401):
WARNING: YOU MUST USE THE SLING AND THE HOIST WHEN YOU MOVE THE
_______ ACTUATOR. THE ACTUATOR WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 136 POUNDS AFTER YOU FILL IT WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID. IF THE ACTUATOR FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Use the sling and the hoist to put the actuator (2) in the correct position.
NOTE: The correct position for the actuator is between the
____ support structure and the shock strut. The adapters (23, 27 and 28) must be on the forward side of the actuator.
