Installation

(1) Make sure the ground lockpins for the landing gear are installed (AMM 09-11-00/201).

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Nose Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Clean all the door operator attachment parts with solvent.

Do a check of the aft door operator for worn parts
(AMM 32-22-04/601).

(5)
Install the trunnion drive crank on the nose gear trunnion.
(a)
Connect the drive crank to the trunnion. 1) Install the bolt through the trunnion drive crank and the trunnion.
2) Tighten the nut to 10 to 15 pound-feet, and install the cotter pin.
NOTE: If you cannot install the cotter pin when the
____ torque is correct, loosen the nut until you can install the cotter pin.
3) Apply a layer of sealant to the nut and bolt head until they are covered.

(b) If you install the left trunnion drive crank, connect the drive crank to the trunnion fitting with these steps: 1) Apply a layer of primer to all surfaces of the bolt and
nut. 2) Install the bolt through the drive crank, trunnion fitting,
and hydraulic mounting bracket while the primer is wet. 3) Install the nut on the bolt. 4) Tighten the bolt to 290 - 510 pound-inches and lockwire
end.
(c) If you install the right trunnion drive crank, connect the drive crank to the trunnion fitting with these steps: 1) Apply a layer of primer to all surfaces of the split bolt. 2) Install the split bolt through the drive crank and trunnion
fitting while the primer is wet.
NOTE: You can temporarily install the split bolt on the
____ right drive crank until the next nose landing gear removal when a solid bolt can be installed. If you need to install a solid bolt, you must remove the gear and refer to CMM 32-21-41, CMM 32-21-44, CMM 32-21-45, and CMM 32-21-46 for installation instructions.
3) Tighten the split bolt to 60 to 85 pound-inches. 4) Safety the two ends of the split bolt with lockwire.

Install the bellcrank on the support fitting on the bulkhead.
(a)
Install one washer with a key on the pivot shaft.
(b)
Install the bellcrank.
(c)
Install one washer with a key and the lock washer with a tang.
NOTE:____Use a minimum of one washer with a key. If you can move the bellcrank axially on the pivot shaft, install one more washer to stop the movement.
(d)
Install and tighten the nut.

If you installed the left bellcrank, connect the rod No. 3 to the bellcrank with these steps:
(a)
Put a layer of grease on the shank and threads of the bolt and on the washers and nut.
(b)
Hold the rod in its position in the bellcrank.
(c)
Install the washers and bolt.
(d)
Install and tighten the nut.
(e)
Safety the nut with a cotter pin.

Install the rigging pin ND-1 or ND-2 in the bellcrank.
