WEATHER RADAR RECEIVER/TRANSMITTER MOUNT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This subject has two tasks. The first task removes the receiver/transmitter (R/T) mount, the second task installs the R/T mount.
B. The R/T mount is found aft of the forward pressure bulkhead at station 200 in the lower nose compartment. To get access to the R/T mount you go through the access door for the lower nose compartment.

(1) AIRPLANES WITH SPERRY PRIMUS 90 WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) WEATHER RADAR AC
2) WEATHER RADAR DC

AIRPLANES WITH COLLINS WXR-700X WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) WEATHER RADAR R/T
(3)
Open the forward access door to get access to the R/T mount.

Do this task to remove the R/T from the R/T mount:
Receiver/Transmitter Removal (Ref 34-41-41/401).

(5) PRIMUS 90 WXR; Remove the R/T mount (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the four screws, lockwashers and a gasket that attach the waveguide section 3 to the R/T mount. (AMM 34-41-21/401).
(b)
Remove the four screws and nuts and eight washers that attach connector D189 to the R/T mount.
(c)
Carefully remove connector D189 from the R/T mount.
(d)
Put dust caps on connectors D189 for protection of the electrical contacts.
(e)
Remove the four screws, washers and nuts which attach the R/T mount to the shelf assembly.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE R/T MOUNT FROM THE SHELF
_______ ASSEMBLY. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS OR THE R/T MOUNT.
(f)
Carefully remove the R/T mount from the shelf assembly.
(g)
Put a dust cap on waveguide section 3.

(6) COLLINS WXR; Remove the R/T mount (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector D2273 on the wire bundle from the blower motor connector.
(b)
Put dust caps on the disconnected blower assembly connectors.
(c)
Remove the four screws, lockwashers and a gasket that attach the waveguide section 2 to the R/T mount waveguide. (AMM 34-41-21/401).
(d)
Support waveguide section 2 at the R/T end or remove the waveguide section 2 at the aft end of section 1.
(e)
Put dust cap(s) on waveguide section 2.
(f)
Remove the two top and two bottom screws,nuts and eight washers that attach connector D189 to the R/T mount.
