3. Waveguide Installation______________________
A. General
(1)
When you install a waveguide section, make sure the choke flange end is always connected with the cover flange end of the opposite section. If you do not do this, an increase in VSWR can occur.
(2)
The clear plastic window in the Collins antenna waveguide is to keep dirt, moisture, or other contaminents from entering the waveguide. It is not mandatory to replace the clear plastic window if it has been removed, however it is recommended.
(3)
The o-ring gasket that are in the round waveguide flange at the ends of the antenna waveguide is to keep the antenna clean and free of moisture. The o-rings are not for pressurization or RF performance.
