WEATHER RADAR SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
______________________________________
1. General_______
A. This subject has three tasks. The tasks are: an operational test, a system test and a system shutdown procedure.
B. The operational test uses the self-test circuits to make sure the weather radar system is serviceable. The system test makes sure all functions of the weather radar operate correctly. The system shutdown procedure is used to set the weather radar system and other related airplane equipment back to their usual condition.
C. The operational test must be done at the start of the system test. The system test is done as a maintenance function and can be used to find failures in the system.
(1) The weather radar indicator is referred to as the WXR indicator.

WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR
_______ REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE. DO NOT TRANSMIT RF ENERGY WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR REMOVED IN AREA 200 FEET OR LESS OF THE ANTENNA. THIS CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE THE AIRPLANE IS IN A HANGAR OR OTHER ENCLOSURE. MAKE SURE NO PERSONS ARE IN THE AREA 15 FEET OR LESS FROM THE ANTENNA WHEN IT TRANSMITS RF ENERGY. RF ENERGY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION: WHEN AN LRU FAILURE MESSAGE SHOWS, STOP THE WEATHER RADAR
_______ SYSTEM TEST. IF YOU DO NOT STOP THE WEATHER RADAR, THE RESULT WILL BE DAMAGE TO THE DEFECTIVE LRU OR OTHER SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
