 C. Prepare for the Test
 S 865-005
 (1)  Do the steps that follow for the system test:
 (a)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT EFIS; Set up the pitot-static test set and adapter to the captain's pitot-static system (AMM 34-11-00/501), so you can get predetermined altitude rates from the No. 1 CADC (AMM 34-12-00/501).

 (b)  
AIRPLANES WITH EFIS; Set up the pitot-static test set and adapter to the captain's pitot-static system (AMM 34-11-01/501), so you can get predetermined altitude rates from the No. 1 CADC (AMM 34-12-01/501).

 (c)  
Set up the LRRA altitude simulator such that the radio altitude from No. 1 LRRA can be set and changed.

 (d)  
Set up the signal generator such that glide slope deviation signals can be set and changed.

 CAUTION:_______ALL LANDING GEAR GROUND LOCKS MUST BE INSTALLED. THERE MUST BE NO PRESSURE ON ANY HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. NO ATTEMPT SHALL BE MADE TO CHANGE THE FLAG IN THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE AND NO TRY MUST BE MADE TO MOVE THE HANDLE INTO THE UP POSITION.
 (2)  Make sure that the movement of the landing gear selector lever will not cause a movement of the landing gear.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND EQUIPMENT IS OUT OF FLAP TRAVEL.

 (3)  Make sure that the trailing edge flaps and drive system are
 correctly installed, adjusted and prepared for operation.

 D. Do a Test of the System

 (1)  
Do the GPWS - Operational Test.

 (2)  
Do a test of the Take Off Descent Warning as follows:

 (a)  
Use the radio altimeter test set to make a radio altitude of 600 feet and then decrease to 400 feet.

 (b)  
Pull the landing gear override trigger and set the landing gear lever to OFF position.

 (c)  
Using the pitot static test set, set an altitude of 600 feet.

 (d)  
Make a barometric sink rate of 500 feet per minute. Make sure that the PULL UP indicators and aural warning consists of DON'T SINK come on between 4 to 9 seconds from start of sink rate simulation.
