(a) Make sure the sequence that follows occurs:
1) All the LEDs come on momentarily.
2) All the red LEDs go off.
3) The green LED stays on.

3. ATC System Test - Using Collins 476X-3 Test Set_______________________________________________
A. General
(1) This system test is a more complete check of the ATC system. The system test first does the ATC Operational Test. Then uses a ramp test to examine the left and the right ATC system.

(1) Calibrate the Collins 476X-3 test set as follows:
(a)
Set the 476X-3 MODE selector switch to A-B-C. 1) Make sure the mode flags show A to B and to C in sequence
(b)
Set the MODE selector switch to the SELF-TEST position.
(c)
Set the T/R ATTEN to 25 db. 1) Make sure the battery is fully charged.

(d) (e) (f) To calibrate R-F OUTPUT, set the MODE SELECTOR to SELF-TEST.Set the CALIBRATE OUTPUT/BATTERY VOLTAGE switch to the calibrate output position.Adjust OUTPUT to get a red line indication on the meter.
(2) S 715-013Do a self test of the Collins 476X-3 as follows: (a) Set the MODE SELECTOR switch to SLEF-TEST. (b) Set the T-R ATTEN switch to 25 db. 1) Make sure the test set shows the IDENT flag. (c) Set the code selector to code, 0000 1) Make sure the test set show the CODE and IDENT flags. (d) Set the code selector to code 7777. 1) Make sure the test set show the CODE and IDENT flags. (e) Set the code selector to code 7773. 1) Make sure the test set show the CODE (blinking) and IDENT flags. (f) Set the code selector to code 0004. 1) Make sure the test set show the CODE (blinking) and IDENT flags.
(3) S 865-014Put the 476X-3 test set about 40 to 50 feet away from the ATC antenna.
NOTE:____ To get accurate results, the test set must be visible from the cockpit, and there should be a line of sight between the test set and the ATC antenna.
