Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the radar targets increase.

Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator clockwise. 1) Make sure the radar targets go out of view.
(j)
Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator to the full up (+15 degrees) position.

Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator to decrease tilt until the outer target comes into view.
(l)
Set the STAB switch on the WXR indicator to the ON position.
1) Make sure there is no change in the radar targets shown on the display.

Do the Weather Radar System Shutdown Task.
F. Antenna Tilt and Stabilization Test

(1) Do the antenna tilt and stabilization tests.
(a) Push the STBY mode switch on the WXR indicator. 1) Make sure you see the STBY in the mode field.
CAUTION: DO NOT OPEN THE RADOME IF THE WIND VELOCITY IS MORE THAN
_______ 15 KNOTS. DAMAGE TO THE RADOME CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: DO NOT PRY THE RADOME OPEN OR USE A LEVER IN THE
_______ SCREW HOLES. YOU CAN USE A SUCTION CUP. DAMAGE TO THE RADOME CAN OCCUR.
(b)
Open the nose radome: 1) Remove the screws that attach the aft edge of the radome to the fuselage bulkhead.
2) Open the radome and hold it in the open position with support rods.
(c)
Remove the guard from the azimuth SCAN switch on the antenna.
(d)
Set the azimuth SCAN switch on the antenna to the OFF position.

DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR IN A HANGAR OR OTHER
ENCLOSURE.
MAKE SURE NO PERSONS ARE IN THE AREA 15 FEET OR LESS FROM
THE ANTENNA WHEN IT TRANSMITS RF ENERGY. RF ENERGY CAN
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION:_______ WHEN WEATHER RADAR IS OPERATED IN ANY MODE OTHER THAN
STANDBY OR TEST, DIRECT NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE SO FORWARD
180-DEGREE SECTOR IS FREE OF LARGE METALLIC OBJECTS
(HANGARS, TRUCKS, OTHER AIRPLANES, ETC.) FOR A DISTANCE OF
300 FEET AND TILT ANTENNA UPWARD 14 DEGREES OR DAMAGE TO
RECEIVER MAY OCCUR.
(e)
Push the WX mode switch on the WXR indicator. 1) Make sure the indicator is blank. 2) Make sure ANT flashes off and on in the mode field.
(f)
Push the STBY mode switch on the WXR indicator.
(g)
Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator to the 0 position.
(h)
Carefully turn, by hand, the antenna reflector until you align it with the 0 degree mark on the azimuth scale. 1) Make sure the antenna deflection you see against the
elevation scale is 0 |1 degree.
(i)
Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator to the +15-degree position. 1) Make sure the antenna deflection is 15 |1 degree in the up
position.
(j)
Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator to the -15-degree position. 1) Make sure the antenna deflection is 15 |1 degrees in the
down position.
(k)
Turn the TILT control on the WXR indicator to the 0-degree position. 1) Make sure the antenna deflection is 0 |1 degree.
(l)
Set the STAB switch on the WXR indicator to the ON position.
