(1) For the No. 1 navigation unit, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) VHF NAV-1 VOR/ILS
2) INSTR XFMR-1

(2) For the No. 2 navigation unit, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) VHF NAV-2 VOR/ILS
2) INSTR XFMR-2

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ NAVIGATION UNIT. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE NAVIGATION UNIT.
(3) Remove the dust caps from the electrical connectors.

(4) S 424-045Do this task to install the applicable navigation unit: Install the Rack-Mounted E/E Box (Ref 20-10-07/201).
(5) S 864-046For the No. 1 navigation unit, remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P18 Load Control Center - Left 1) VHF NAV-1 VOR/ILS 2) INSTR XFMR-1
(6) S 864-066For the No. 2 navigation unit, remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P6 Load Control Center - Right 1) VHF NAV-2 VOR/ILS 2) INSTR XFMR-2
(7) S 864-049Do this task to supply electrical power: (Ref 24-22-00/201). Manual Control
(8) S 714-070Do a check of the navigation unit: (a) For the No. 1 or the No. 2 navigation unit: Set the VHF NAV transfer switch on the instrument switching module to the NORMAL position. (b) Tune the VOR/ILS navigation system to a local VOR station. 1) Listen for the local VOR station sound on the flight interphone (Ref 23-51-00/501).

1. General_______
A. This subject has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the VHF NAV control panel. The second task is the installation of the VHF NAV control panel and a test of the VHF NAV control panel.

A. General
(1) The No. 1 VHF NAV control panel (P8-25) and the No. 2 VHF NAV control panel (P8-26) are on the aft electronic panel (P8).

(1) For the No. 1 VHF NAV control panel, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
