(1) AIRPLANES WITH SPERRY PRIMUS 90 WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) WEATHER RADAR AC
2) WEATHER RADAR DC

(2) AIRPLANES WITH COLLINS WXR-700X WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) WEATHER RADAR R/T

(3) Open the nose radome to get access to the WXR antenna:
(a) Remove the screws from the nose radome.

Use a suction cup to open the radome.

Lock the radome in its open position.

Open the forward access door (1103) to get access to the waveguide sections forward of the receiver-transmitter (R/T).

Remove the WXR R/T (Ref 34-41-41/401).

Remove the waveguide sections:
(a) Disconnect section 1: 1) Release the quick-disconnect that holds section 1 to the
WXR antenna.
2) Remove the four screws that attach section 1 to section 2.
3) Hold the forward end of section 2 to prevent force on the
connections.
4) AIRPLANES WITH COLLINS WXR-700X WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Remove the screw and clamp from section 1.
5) Remove the eight screws that attach section 1 to the forward pressure bulkhead.
6) Carefully remove section 1, with its pressure seal gasket, through the hole in the forward bulkhead.
7) Examine the waveguide section No. 1 (flexible) inner side for heavy layers of contamination. a) Replace waveguide section No. 1 with heavy layer of
contamination (AMM 34-41-21/401). b) Do not try to clean or remove contamination from the flexible waveguide section.
(b) Disconnect section 2:
1) AIRPLANES WITH SPERRY PRIMUS 90 WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Remove the four screws that attach section 2 to the waveguide switch.
2) AIRPLANES WITH COLLINS WXR-700X WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Remove the four screws and the lock washers that attach section 2 to the R/T mount.
3) Remove section 2 and its gasket.
(c) AIRPLANES WITH SPERRY PRIMUS 90 WEATHER RADAR SYSTEMS; Disconnect section 3: 1) Remove the four screws that attach section 3 to the forward
end of the R/T mount.
