Remove the dust caps from the electrical connectors.

Connect the coaxial cables to the antenna.

 (e)  
Align the leading edge with the screw holes on the top of the vertical fin.

 (4)  Do this task to do a check of the resistance between the antenna base and airplane skin: Electrical Bonding Check (SWPM 20-20-00).
 (a)  Make sure the resistance is not more than 0.001 ohm.

 GLIDE SLOPE ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the glide slope antenna. The second task is the installation of the glide slope antenna and a test of the glide slope antenna.

 2.  Glide Slope Antenna Removal (Fig. 401)___________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  The glide slope antenna (M40) is installed in the nose radome (Fig. 401).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THE WEATHER RADAR POWER IS OFF AND THE ANTENNA CANNOT
_______ MAKE A SCAN. IF THE WEATHER RADAR TRANSMITS OR MAKES A SCAN, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  
Open the nose radome (AMM 53-52-00/401).

Make sure the antenna director bar is not damaged.


 NOTE:  The antenna director bar is a 13-inch continuous strip of aluminum foil tape. The strip is installed horizontally across the centerline on the inner surface of the nose radome. It is approximately 22 inches from the lower edge of the nose radome.

 (a)  If the director bar is damaged, replace the antenna director bar (AMM 53-52-31/401).

 (3)  Remove the glide slope antenna:
 (a)  
Remove the screws that attach the glide slope antenna to the airplane structure (Fig. 401).

 (b)  
Pull the antenna assembly away from the airplane structure to get access to the coaxial cables.
