Do the Ground Proximity Warning System Operational Test.

 (5)  
Do a Test of the Air/Ground Function as follows:

 (a)  
Open the LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LTS circuit breaker on panel P6-3.

 (b)  
Make a radio altitude of 1500 feet.

 


 NOTE: Limit rate of radio altitude increases to no more than
____ 3000 ft/min, and decreases to no more than 1800 ft/min.
 (c)  
Make an airspeed of 300 knots.

 (d)  
You must wait 70 seconds, then decrease the airspeed to 0 knots.

 (e)  
Decrease radio altitude to 0 feet.

 (f)  
Close the LANDING GEAR AIR/GND RELAY & LTS circuit breaker on panel P6-3: 1) Make sure the INOP light comes on.

 (g)  
Set FLIGHT HISTORY on the front of the GPWC.


 1)  Make sure "AIR/GROUND INVALID FLIGHT 1" is not one of the messages that show on the GPWC front display.
 NOTE: Other messages can show on the front display.

 2)  Make sure that the INOP light goes off.

 (6)  Do a Test of Terrain Clearance - Mode 4A as follows:
 (a)  
Make a radio altitude of 800 feet.

 (b)  
Make an air speed of 200 knots.

 (c)  
Push the SYS TEST switch for 5 seconds, then release SYS TEST switch: 1) Make sure the visual and aural warnings are inhibited.

 (d)  
Increase radio altitude to 1700 feet:
 1) Make an air speed of 230 knots.


 (e)  
Set flaps to 15 degrees.

 (f)  
Decrease radio altitude to 800 feet:


 1)  Make sure that the Captain's and the First Officer's PULL UP lights come on and an aural TOO LOW TERRAIN warning is heard.

AIRPLANES WITH A SINGLE FLAP/GEAR INHIBIT SWITCH; Put the FLAP/GEAR INHIBIT switch in the INHIBIT position.

 (h)  
AIRPLANES WITH SEPARATE FLAP AND GEAR INHIBIT SWITCHES; Put the FLAP INHIBIT switch in the INHIBIT position. 1) Make sure all warnings stop.

 (i)  
Make an airspeed of 130 knots.

 (j)  
Set the flaps to 25 degrees.

 (k)  
AIRPLANES WITH A SINGLE FLAP/GEAR INHIBIT SWITCH; Put the FLAP/GEAR INHIBIT switch in the NORMAL position.

 (l)  
AIRPLANES WITH SEPARATE FLAP AND GEAR INHIBIT SWITCHES; Put the FLAP INHIBIT switch in the NORMAL position.

 (m)  
Put the landing gear selector to OFF.

 (n)  
Slowly decrease radio altitude to 450 feet. 1) Make sure that the Captain's and the First Officer's PULL

 UP lights come on. 2) Make sure an aural TOO LOW GEAR warning is heard.

 (o)  
AIRPLANES WITH A SINGLE FLAP/GEAR INHIBIT SWITCH; Put the FLAP/GEAR INHIBIT switch in the INHIBIT position. 1) Make sure all the warnings stop.

 (p)  
AIRPLANES WITH SEPARATE FLAP AND GEAR INHIBIT SWITCHES; Put the FLAP INHIBIT switch in the INHIBIT position. 1) Make sure all the warnings continue.

 (q)  
AIRPLANES WITH SEPARATE FLAP AND GEAR INHIBIT SWITCHES; Put the GEAR INHIBIT switch in the INHIBIT position. 1) Make sure all warnings stop.
