F. Test ATC System

(1) Set the switches on ATC control panel as follows:

Set the PWR switch on the test set to AC or BAT as applicable.

G. Sensitivity Test

(2) Adjust the XPDR SIG control until % REPLY is approximately 90%.
NOTE: The XPDR SIG control must be between 69 and 77 (ATC
____ transponder system minimum triggering level).

(3) Turn the XPDR SIG control fully counterclockwise.
NOTE:____The % REPLY indication might not be stable. This is a result of the test set input gain set at the minimum threshold level which cause the test set to respond to the transponder interrogations with difficulty. A stable % REPLY indication is not necessary.

Set the altitude reporting switch on the ATC control panel to ON.

Set the control on the test set to A/C ALT.

(a) Make sure the XPDR SIG control indication does not differ by more than 1.

(a) Make sure the test set % REPLY indication shows at least 90% reply.
