 GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING SYSTEM - TROUBLE SHOOTING
__________________________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  These trouble shooting procedures are based on performance of the system operational test and are shown in tree-type format.
 B.  The test steps are connected to show the OK condition path.
 C.  When all the steps in the OK condition path are OK, the system operates correctly.
 D.  When a test step does not work, follow the NOT OK line to the box that contains the trouble symptom.
 E.  Turn to the procedure shown and continue to follow one line.
 F.  Use the results of each test step until you find the necessary correct procedure.
 G.  Do the correct procedure, and then do the test step where the failure was found.
 H.  All the trouble shooting procedures think that the wiring is OK and that electrical power is available.
 I.  If the correct procedure does not correct the problem, use the wire diagram to make sure the wire bundle is correct.
 2.  Prepare to Trouble Shoot________________________
 A.  Procedure
 (1)  
Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:

 (a)  
P18 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) GROUND PROX WARN
 2) RADIO ALTM-1
 3) NO. 1 AIR DATA COMPUTER
 4) 115V AC and 26V AC
 5) VHF NAV-1


 (b)  
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) DIM & TEST
 2) INDICATOR LIGHTS

 


 (2)  
Make sure the flaps are up.

 (3)  
Make sure the landing gear lever is in the OFF or DN position.

 (4)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (5)  
Make sure that the cockpit interphone speakers operate correctly (AMM 23-51-00/501).

 (6)  
Set an ILS frequency on VHF NAV-1 control panel.

 (7)  
Make sure that the failure warning flag in the captain's height indicator and altimeter are not in view.

 GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  Two tasks are provided in this subject, one consists of an operational test and the other a system test. The operational test and system test will let you examine the full function of the GPWS. The operational test uses equipment in the aircraft. The system test is a full check of the GPWS, and more equipment is necessary.
