 (f)  Set the controls and switches on the WXR indicator as follows: 1) STBY mode selector - Depressed. Allow a one
 minute warmup period. 2) AZIM switch/indicator - Off 3) SEC SCAN switch/indicator - Off 4) FRZ switch/indicator - Off 5) TGT ALRT switch/indicator - Off 6) GAIN - PRE-SET 7) STAB - OFF 8) TILT - 0 Degrees 9) INT - Middle position 10) RANGE - TEST
 (2)  Do the weather radar trouble shooting (Fig. 101):
 (a)  
Push the WX or MAP mode selector on the WXR indicator.

 (b)  
If the weather radar system is OK a test pattern on the WXR indicator will show like Fig. 101.

 (c)  
If the test pattern is not OK use the test pattern in Fig. 101 and the trouble shooting charts in Fig. 102.

 (d)  
Use the data that follows with the trouble shooting charts in Fig. 102 to trouble shoot the weather radar in the TEST, WX, MAP, or CYC modes. 1) When there are no far targets in the WX or MAP modes the


 malfunction may be as follows:
 a) Unserviceable R/T.
 b) High VSWR in the antenna.
 c) High VSWR in the waveguide sections.

 1.  Do a visual check of the waveguide when the trouble
_ shooting charts do not find the unserviceable LRU. 2) Incorrect or missing middle range targets show that the R/T is unserviceable.
 3)  When the near range targets do not show on the WXR indicator one of these occured: a) A failure in the stabilization circuits in the antenna. b) A failure in the stabililzation circuits in the R/T. c) An unserviceable inertial reference system (Ref
 34-28-00).
