NAVIGATION UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General

A. This subject has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the navigation unit. The second task is the installation of the navigation unit and a test of the navigation unit.

2. Navigation Unit Removal

A. General
(1) The navigation units are installed in the electronics equipment rack. The No. 1 navigation unit (M154) and the No. 2 navigation unit (M155) are on shelf 4 of the E3 rack.

(1) For the No. 1 navigation unit, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) VOR/LOC-1
2) GS-1
3) INSTR XFMR-1

(2) For the No. 2 navigation unit, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) VOR/LOC-2
2) GS-2
3) INSTR XFMR-2

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ NAVIGATION UNIT. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE NAVIGATION UNIT.
(3) Do this task to remove the applicable navigation unit: Remove the Rack-Mounted E/E Box (Ref 20-10-07/201).
