VHF NAV CONTROL PANEL - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This subject has two tasks. The first task is the removal of the VHF NAV control panel. The second task is the installation of the VHF NAV control panel and a test of the VHF NAV control panel.

2. VHF NAV Control Panel Removal_____________________________
A. General
(1) The No. 1 VHF NAV control panel (P8-25) and the No. 2 VHF NAV control panel (P8-26) are on the aft electronic panel (P8).

C. Procedure

(1) For No. 1 VHF NAV control panel, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) VHF NAV-1 VOR/ILS
2) FMC
3) CDU NO. 1
(b)
P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) ELECTRONICS PANEL LIGHTS
S 864-029
(2) For the No. 2 VHF NAV control panel, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) FMC
2) CDU NO. 2
(b)
P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) VHF NAV-2 VOR/ILS
2) ELECTRONICS PANEL LIGHTS

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE VHF

(3) Remove the VHF NAV control panel:
(a)
Release the fasteners that attach the panel.
(b)
Pull the control panel from the aft electronics panel to get access to the electrical connectors.
(c)
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the control panel.
(d)
Install dust caps on the electrical connectors.

3. VHF NAV Control Panel Installation__________________________________
A. General
(1) The No. 1 VHF NAV control panel (P8-25) and the No. 2 VHF NAV control panel (P8-26) are on the aft electronic panel (P8).
