6. VOR/ILS - NAV Transfer Relay Removal____________________________________
A. General
(1) The VOR/ILS transfer relays are installed on shelf 4 of the electronic equipment rack (E3).

C. Procedure

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) G/S-1
2) INSTR XFR
3) VOR/LOC-1
(b)
P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) G/S-2
2) VOR/LOC-2

(2) Remove the VOR/ILS transfer relay:
(a)
Disconnect the coaxial cables and electrical cables from the transfer relay.
(b)
Remove the screws that attach the relay to the shelf.
(c)
Remove the VOR/ILS transfer relay from the shelf.

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) G/S-1
2) INSTR XFR
3) VOR/LOC-1
(b)
P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) G/S-2
2) VOR/LOC-2

(2) Install the VOR/ILS transfer relay:
(a)
Align the relay to the holes in the shelf.
(b)
Install the screws to attach the relay to the shelf.
(c)
Connect the coaxial cables and electrical cables to the relay and tighten with your hand.

(3) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P18 Load Control Center - Left
1) G/S-1
2) INSTR XFR
3) VOR/LOC-1

P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) G/S-2

(4) S 714-117Do the Self-Test parts of the VOR/ILS Operational Test (Ref 34-31-00/501).
(5) S 864-119If electrical power is not necessary, do this task to remove electrical power: Manual Control (AMM 24-22-00/201).
