 A.  This subject has one task. The task is an operational test of the low range radio altimeter (LRRA) system.

 2.  Operational Test - LRRA System______________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  This procedure is a ground test of each LRRA system . You use the self-test switch on the height indicators (HIs) to start the tests. While the ground test operates, you monitor the radio altitude indications on the HIs.

 (8)  Set the decision height (DH) cursor on the captain's height indicator to the lowest possible altitude (zero or below, or carefully to the lower mechanical stop of the cursor).
 (a)  
Make sure the captain's DH light(s) go off.

 (b)  
If the DH lights do not go off, open and then close the RADIO ALTM-1 circuit breaker.

 E. Self-Test for the Captain's Radio Altimeter System

 (1)  Use the captain's height indicator to do the operational test for the captain's radio altimeter system:
 (a)  
Push and hold the self-test button. 1) Make sure the DH light(s) go off. 2) Make sure the altitude pointer shows the self-test altitude

 of 40(|2) feet. 3) Make sure the warning flag is in view.

 (b)  
Turn the cursor (index) control knob to increase the DH alert altitude. 1) Make sure the DH light(s) come on when the DH cursor
