(p) Put the guard back on the azimuth SCAN switch.

Push the WX mode switch on the WXR indicator.
1) Make sure the antenna scans 80 |5 degrees to the left and to the right from the center position.

Set the STAB switch on the WXR indicator to the ON position.

Set the switch on the inertial reference system display unit (ISDU) as follows. 1) Set and hold the DSPL SEL switch to the TEST position.
a) Make sure the antenna moves from the full up and right
position to the full down and left position. 2) Release the DSPL SEL switch to the TK/GS position. 3) Set the SYS DSPL switch to the L position.

WEATHER RADAR SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General
_______
A. The weather radar system is a navigation system which uses the reflective effect of microwave pulses on material substances to obtain a picture of conditions ahead of the airplane. Weather radar operation is based on the fact that water particles present in the air as rainfall (generally associated with storm cells) reflect a radar beam with intensity in proportional to the moisture concentration.
