WARNING: MAKE SURE THE WEATHER RADAR POWER IS OFF AND THE ANTENNA CANNOT
_______ MAKE A SCAN. IF THE WEATHER RADAR TRANSMITS OR MAKES A SCAN, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.

Open the nose radome (AMM 53-52-00/401).

Remove the localizer antenna:
(a)
Remove the screws that attach the antenna to the airplane structure.
(b)
Pull the localizer antenna out of the bulkhead to get to the coaxial cables.
(c)
Disconnect the coaxial connectors from the localizer antenna.
(d)
Install dust caps on the electrical connectors.

Clean the mating surfaces of the antenna and the airplane structure (AMM 51-21-31/701).

Apply a layer of BMS 3-23 corrosion-preventive compound to the mating surfaces of the antenna and the airplane structure (SRM 51-20-01).

(3) S 424-007Install the localizer antenna: (a) Remove the dust caps from the electrical connectors. (b) Connect the electrical connectors to the localizer antenna. (c) Align the localizer antenna to the screw holes which hold the antenna to the bulkhead. (d) Install the screws to attach the localizer antenna to the bulkhead.
(4) S 224-015Do this task to do a check of the resistance between the antenna and the airplane skin: Electrical Bonding Check (SWPM 20-20-00). (a) Make sure the resistance is not more than 0.001 ohms.
(5) S 714-019Do the LOC Test part of the VOR/ILS System Test (AMM 34-31-00/501, 34-31-02/501).
(6) S 414-010Close the nose radome (AMM 53-52-00/401).
(7) S 864-024If electrical power is not necessary: Do this task to remove electrical power: 24-22-00/201). "Manual Control" (AMM
