 D.  Procedure
 S 865-002
 (1)  Prepare for the weather radar operational test:
 (a)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (b)  
Supply equipment cooling (AMM 21-58-02/501).

 (c)  
Open the forward access door 1103L to get access to the weather radar receiver/transmitter (AMM 12-31-11/201).

 (d)  
Close these circuit breakers:

 1)  P6 Load Control Center - Right
 a) WEATHER RADAR R/T


 (e)  
Align the inertial reference system in the NAV mode (AMM 34-28-01/201). 1) Make sure the ATT flags on the captain's and the first

 officer's EADIs are not in view.

 (f)  
Set the controls on the WXR control panel as follows: 1) MODE - MAP 2) GAIN - CAL 3) IDNT - Off 4) TILT - 0° 5) STAB - On

 (g)  
Set the controls on the captain's and the first officer's EFIS control panel as follows: 1) BRT control - Mid-scale 2) RANGE switch - 40 3) Mode selector switch - EXP VOR/ILS 4) WXR power switch - OFF (Pushed)

 (2)  Do the weather radar self-test (Fig. 501).
 WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR
_______ REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE. DO NOT TRANSMIT RF ENERGY WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR REMOVED IN AREA 200 FEET OR LESS OF THE ANTENNA. THIS CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
 DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR IN A HANGAR OR OTHER ENCLOSURE.
 DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE THE AIRPLANE IS IN A HANGAR OR OTHER ENCLOSURE. MAKE SURE NO PERSONS ARE IN THE AREA 15 FEET OR LESS FROM THE ANTENNA WHEN IT TRANSMITS RF ENERGY. RF ENERGY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (a)  Push the WXR power switch on the captain's and the first officer's EFIS control panels to the ON position.

 (b)  Set the TEST switch on the WXR control panel to on.
 1)  Make sure the weather radar test display on each EHSI is as follows (Fig. 501):
 a) A WXR TEST message shows.
 b) The range arcs have equal space between them.
 c) The half range message shows in the center.

 2)  Make sure the R/T mount blower comes on.
 3)  Make sure the test pattern on the EHSIs is as follows: a) The green band shows at the bottom. b) The yellow band shows above the green band. c) The red band shows above the yellow band. d) A magenta wedge is in the center and each side.
 4)  If failures occur, these messages will show on the EHSIs:
 NOTE: For some failures you will not see a test pattern

 a) A WXR FAIL message.
 b) An LRU failure message of RT, ANT, CONT, ATT, OR WEAK.

 (c)  Push the WXR switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the off position.
 NOTE: These steps make sure the correct operation of the WXR
____ power switch on the first officer's EFIS control panel.
 1) Make sure the weather radar data on the captain's EHSI is removed. 2) Make sure the test pattern stays on the first officer's EHSI.
 (d)  Push the WXR switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the On position.

 (3)  If no more test of the weather radar is necessary, do the Weather Radar System Shutdown Task.
