(3) S 114-015Clean the antenna and the retaining ring if it is necessary.
(4) S 394-007Apply corrosion preventive compound to the antenna and the faying surfaces (SRM 51-20-01).
(5) S 424-008Install the LRRA antenna: (a) Put the gasket on the antenna.
NOTE:____ If there is a keying pin installed, align the gasket on the pin.
(b) Connect the coaxial cable(s) to the antenna.
CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE YOU ALIGN THE ANTENNAS CORRECTLY. ANTENNAS THAT YOU DO NOT ALIGN CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE SYSTEM OPERATION PROBLEMS.
(c) (d) AIRPLANES WITHOUT ANTENNA KEYING PINS; Install the antenna so that the long edges of the horn radiator are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the airplane. 1) Align the TNC connector for each antenna in the same direction.AIRPLANES WITH ANTENNA KEYING PINS INSTALLED; Align the keying pin on the antenna to the keying pin hole in the airplane structure.
NOTE:____ There is one antenna keying pin per antenna.
(e) Install the screws that attach the antenna to the airplane structure.
(6) S 394-016Apply the aerodynamic sealant to the antenna and the airplane structure (AMM 51-31-00/201).
(7) S 764-009Measure the resistance between the antenna base and the airplane structure (SWPM 20-20-00).
NOTE:____ Disconnect the antenna cables at the applicalble receiver/ transmitter before you do a check of the electrical bond.
(a) Make sure the dc resistance between the antenna base and the airplane structure is 0.001 ohm (or less).

LRRA RECEIVER-TRANSMITTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This subject has two tasks, a removal and an installation of the receiver-transmitter (R/T)for the low range radio altimeter (LRRA).
B. The LRRA R/Ts are installed on shelf four of the E2 electronic rack. Each unit is held in its position by a knurled clamp nut.
C. When you do the removal or the installation task, use a
portable-extractor tool to move the R/T.

CAUTION:_______OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS THAT FOLLOW. IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THESE CIRCUIT BREAKERS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RECEIVER-TRANSMITTER.
(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
NOTE: Open the RADIO ALTM-1 circuit breaker when it is necessary to
____ remove the LRRA-1 R/T. Open the RADIO ALTM-2 circuit breaker to remove the LRRA-2 R/T.
