 (f)  Set the ramp test set to supply a 75 MHz RF signal with 400 Hz modulation and an output level of between -50 and -80 dBm.
 NOTE: On the NAV 401L ramp test set, set the MODE switch to
____ MKR XTAL, the tone select switch to 400, and the OUTPUT -DBm control to between 50 and 80.
 1) Make sure the blue OUTER lights on the captain's P1 panel and the first officer's P3 panel come on. 2) Make sure you hear a 400 Hz sound through the interphone system.
 NOTE: Adjust the volume control until you can hear the
____
 sound.


 (g)  
Change the ramp test set to a 1300 Hz modulation frequency. 1) Make sure the blue OUTER lights go off and the amber MIDDLE lights come on.

 2)  Make sure you hear a 1300 Hz sound through the interphone system.

 (h)  
Change the ramp test set to a 3000 Hz modulation frequency. 1) Make sure the amber MIDDLE lights go off and the white AIRWAYS lights come on.

 2)  Make sure you hear a 3000 Hz sound through the interphone system.

 (i)  
Put the MARKER HI/LO sensitivity switch in the LO position. 1) Make sure the white AIRWAYS lights go off. 2) Make sure the 3000 Hz sound stops.

 (j)  
Set the ramp test set to give an RF output level of between -20 and -40 dBm. 1) Make sure the white AIRWAYS lights come on. 2) Make sure you hear the 3000 Hz sound through the interphone


 system.

 MARKER BEACON ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject has three tasks; a removal, an installation, and a test of the marker beacon antenna.
 B.  The marker beacon antenna is installed on the bottom of the fuselage at body station 620.
 TASK 34-35-11-004-001
 2.  Marker Beacon Antenna Removal_____________________________
 A.  Standard Tools and Equipment
 (1)  Sealant removal tool - hardwood or plastic
 B.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 215 Keel Beam

 C.  Procedure
 S 864-001
 (1)  Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
 (a)  P18 Load Control Center - Left
 1) MARKER BEACON

 (2)  Remove the marker beacon antenna:
 (a)  
Remove the six screws from the antenna base.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE FORCE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE ANTENNA BASE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE SKIN OR THE COAXIAL CABLE.

 (b)  
Carefully lift up around the antenna with the sealant removal tool until the seal is broken.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT PULL ON THE ANTENNA CABLE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ANTENNA CABLE.

 (c)  
Lower the antenna to get access to the antenna cable.

 (d)  
Disconnect the antenna cable.

 (e)  
Remove the antenna.
