 (b)  
If the XMTR light comes on, or any of the other lights on the R/T except the IND light come on, replace the applicable R/T (Ref 34-48-21/401).

 (c)  
If the SENS, WARN, and FLAG lights come on, inspect the connector pins on the rear of the R/T and the mating connector on the rack for bent pins and damage. Repair or replace as required.

 (d)  
If the SENS, WARN, and FLAG lights still come on, replace the applicable receive or transmit antenna (Ref 34-48-11/401) or repair/replace the coaxial cables connected to the antennas, as required.

 (e)  
The warn flag in the HI should be out of view if the system is operational.

 (f)  
If the warn flag on the HI is still in view, make a check of the wiring between the HI and the applicable R//T.


 C.  HI Troubleshooting
 (1)  These faults usually occur in the HI. Replace the HI if you see one or more of these faults.
 NOTE: If the fail warn flag on the HI is in view after the HI is
____ replaced, continue on with the troubleshooting procedures.
 (a)  
Dial lights (all malfunctions).

 (b)  
DH light (all malfunctions).

 (c)  
Self-test pushbutton or DH control knob/cursor/counter (all malfunctions).

 (d)  
Warn flag not in view when the circuit breaker is pulled.


 D.  ADI DH Light Troubleshooting
 (1)  For an attitude director indicator (ADI) with a DH light, press the DH light face to test for a failed lamp in the DH light assembly.
 (a)
Replace the DH light or DH light assembly, as required.

 (b)
If the DH light still does not come on, replace the ADI.


 E.  Put the airplane in its usual condition at the completion of troubleshooting.

 A.  This subject contains one task. The task simulates radio altitude with a Bendix/King AMT-51A Radio Altimeter Test Set connected to Bendix ALA-51A radio altimeters.

 2.  Radio Altitude Simulation (BENDIX/KING AMT-51A Radio Altimeter Test Set).

 (1)  
Use this procedure with Bendix receiver/transmitters (R/Ts) that have dc (analog) radio altitude output.

Do these procedures in sequence.

 E.  Prepare for Radio Altitude Simulation

 (1)  Do the LRRA Operational Test (Ref 34-48-00/501 or 34-48-03/501, as applicable) to make sure the radio altimeter system and its display interfaces operate correctly.
 NOTE: Do not do the decision height (DH) tests since DH is not
____ necessary for radio altitude simulation.
 Do not turn off the systems energized in the operational test. This will decrease the time to do the radio altitude simulation procedures.

AIRPLANES WITHOUT EFIS;
 Set the decision height to 600 feet on the HIs.

 Do these steps:


 (a)  
Set the EFIS transfer switch (P5 overhead panel) to the NORMAL position.

 (b)  
Set the decision height to 600 feet on the EFIS control panels.
