Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open the circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
1) APU PRIMARY CONT

Open the APU access doors:
(a)
Open the latches on the APU access doors.
(b)
Open the APU access doors.
(c)
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT HIT THE INLET PLENUM WITH YOUR HANDS OR TOOLS. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET PLENUM. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET PLENUM, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO REPLACE IT.

Remove the rear wire harness on the APU (Fig. 404):
(a)
Disconnect the P6 connector (23) from the ignition exciter.
(b)
Remove the two nuts (24), two bolts (25), two clamps (26) and two grommets (27).
(c)
Disconnect the P5 connector (5) from the oil temperature sensor.
(d)
Disconnect the P7 connector (6) from the oil pressure switch.
(e)
Remove the two nuts (7), two bolts (8) and two clamps (9).
(f)
Disconnect the P3 connector (10) at the bottom of the fuel filter bypass switch.
(g)
Remove the two bolts (11).
(h)
Disconnect the harness from the electrical connector bracket. 1) Remove the clamps (12) from the harness.
(i)
Disconnect the P4 connector (31) from the fuel metering unit.
(j)
Remove the two nuts (32), the two bolts (33) and the two clamps (34).
(k)
Remove the nut (35), the bolt (36), the spacer (37) and the clamp (38).
(l)
Disconnect the P10 connector (4) from the air inlet temperature sensor (T1).
(m)
Remove the two bolts (1), the two spacers (2) and the two clamps (3).

Disconnect the P9 connector (17) from the inlet pressure sensor.
(o)
Disconnect the P12 connector (18) from the identification unit for the serial number.
(p)
Disconnect the P11 connector (19) from the T6 thermocouple trim unit.
(q)
Remove the two bolts (20), the spacer (21) and the two clamps (22). 1) Install the bolt (20) through the clamp (22) and into the
pressure sensor and tighten with your fingers.
(r)
Carefully disconnect the ground wire from the harness bundle.
(s)
Remove the three nuts (28), the three bolts (29) and the three clamps (30).
(t)
Disconnect the P22 connector (41) from the J22 connector (39) at the lower bracket.
(u)
Remove the four screws (40) and disconnect the J22 connector (39) from the bracket.
(v)
Remove the four screws (13) that attach the J1 connector (14) to the bracket.
(w)
Remove the bolt (15) and clamp (16).
(x)
Remove the rear wire harness from the APU engine.

Install caps and plugs on all the electrical receptacles and connectors for protection.

Seal the wire harness in a plastic bag.

Keep the plastic bag in a strong container until it is time to install the wire harness.
