(1)
If the actuator (3) is retracted, extend the actuator:
(a)
Remove the caps from the electrical plug DM83 (4) and the actuator.
(b)
Connect the electrical plug DM83 (4) to the actuator (5).
(c)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
1) P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center a) APU PRIMARY CONT

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 panel.
(e)
Move the APU control switch to the ON position until the actuator (5) is fully extended.
(f)
Move the APU control switch to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(g)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: 1) P6 Main Power Supply Panel a) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
2) P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
a) APU PRIMARY CONT
(h)
Disconnect the electrical plug DM83 (4) from the actuator (5).
(i)
Install caps on the electrical plug DM83 (4) and the actuator
(5)
to prevent contamination.

If it is necessary, install the actuator (3) in the actuator container (5):
(a)
Attach the clevis (23) to the actuator (3) with the bolt (16), the bushings (19), the washers (18), and the nut (17).
(b)
Put the electrical receptacle into the actuator container (5) through the wall of the container.
(c)
Attach the electrical receptacle to the actuator container (5) with the screws (13), the washers (14) and the nuts (15).
(d)
Attach the terminal end of the actuator (3) to the actuator container (5) with the large locknut (20).

Install the actuator container (5) on the air inlet duct:
(a)
Set the actuator (3) and the actuator container (5) near the electrical harness.
(b)
Remove the caps from the electrical plug DM83 (4) and the receptacle.
(c)
Connect the electrical plug DM83 (4) to the receptacle in the actuator container (5).

CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ALL THE UNWANTED MATERIAL THAT FALLS INTO THE AIR INLET PLENUM DURING THE INSTALLATION. IT CAN BE NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE ACCESS PANELS ON THE INLET PLENUM TO REMOVE THE UNWANTED MATERIAL. MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE MATERIAL BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE APU. A FAILURE TO REMOVE THE UNWANTED MATERIAL BEFORE THE APU OPERATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU.
(d) (e) (f) (g) Put the extended actuator (3) shaft through the wall of the air inlet duct.Attach the clevis plate (6) to the actuator (3) shaft with the bolt (7), the washers (8), the bushing (10), and the nut (9).Install a lockwire on the bolt (7) and nut (9).Connect the actuator container (5) to the air inlet duct with the V-band clamp (2).
