Put a 1/4-inch square ratchet into the access hole and engage the socket on the actuator.
CAUTION: DO NOT GO ABOVE 25 POUND-INCHES (2.8 N.M) OF TORQUE WHEN
_______ YOU TURN THE ACTUATOR SOCKET. THE TORQUE THAT IS NECESSARY TO TURN THE CRANK WILL INCREASE AS THE ACTUATOR ROD BECOMES FULLY EXTENDED. DAMAGE CAN OCCUR IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE ON THE CRANK.
(d)
Use 25 pound-inches (2.8 N.m) or less of torque to turn the socket counterclockwise until the door is closed. 1) If the door does not close, do this task: APU Air Inlet
Door Deactivation (Fixed Link Installation).
(e)
Remove the ratchet from the actuator socket.
(f)
Turn the transfer socket for the electrical or manual operation to the ELECTRICAL position.
(g)
Install the access cover for the manual override on the actuator container.

Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars: 1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged. 2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars. 3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
(b)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
(d)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(e)
Close the APU access doors.
(f)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.

Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

(b)

Remove the actuator (Ref 49-15-04/401).

Install the fixed link assembly:
(a)
Remove the bolt that attaches the clevis to the bottom of the actuator.
(b)
Attach the clevis to the end of the link identified ACTUATOR CONTROL END with a bolt, a bushing, the washers, and a nut.
