APU DRAIN MAST - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the removal and the installation tasks for the APU drain mast.
B. The fuel mast assembly is referred to as the APU drain mast.
C. The APU drain mast is installed on the side of the fuselage. You can get access to the drain mast fasteners through the compartment that is forward of the APU compartment firewall.

(1)
Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(2)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
1) APU PRIMARY CONT

Open the access door 315AL to get access to the area aft of the stabilizer box compartment.

(4)
Remove the APU drain mast:
(a)
Disconnect the drain lines from the drain mast fittings.

Install caps on the drain lines to prevent contamination.
(c)
Remove the bolts (1) and the collars (2) that attach the drain mast (3) to the fuselage.
(d)
Remove the drain mast (3).

Clean the drain mast and the skin surface:
(a)
Clean the parting agent from the skin surface.
NOTE: The parting agent is applied to the skin surface to
____ permit an easy separation of the adhesive from the skin.
(b) If the same drain mast is to be installed, remove the adhesive from the flange and clean the flange.
NOTE: The adhesive is applied between the drain mast and
____ the skin to make a shim. This shim is for a contour difference between the drain mast and the skin.
