Procedure


 S 864-123
 (1)  
Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (2)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
 1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT


 (b)  
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
 1) APU PRIMARY CONT

 (3)  
Open the APU access doors:

 (a)  
Open the latches on the APU access doors.

 (b)  
Open the APU access doors.

 (c)  
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT HIT THE INLET PLENUM WITH YOUR HANDS OR TOOLS. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET PLENUM. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET PLENUM, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO REPLACE IT.
 (4)  
Remove the front wire harness on the APU (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Disconnect the P22 connector (2) from the J22 connector (1).

 (b)  
Disconnect the P20 connector (4) from the air temperature sensor (T13).

 (c)  
Disconnect the P21 connector (7) from the diverter valve control.

 (d)  
Remove the lacing tape that attaches the wire harness jumper (19) to the wire harness at seven locations.

 (e)  
Remove the eleven nuts (14, 15, 17, and 21), eleven bolts (5, 6, 9, and 10) and the eleven clamps (10), three clamps (19), two clamps (18), the clamp (3, 8, 9A, and 20).

 (f)  
Disconnect the P19 connector (11) from the oil level sensor.

 (g)  
Disconnect the P23 connector (16) from the air temperature sensor (T12).

 (h)  
Remove the four nuts (14), the four bolts (12), and the four clamps (13).

 (i)  
Remove the four screws that attach the J22 connector (1) to the bracket on the cooling air duct adapter.

 (j)  
Remove the nut (17), the bolt (9), and the clamp (18) that attach the wire harness jumper (19) to the load gearbox bracket.


 NOTE: The wire harness jumper will be fully removed during
____ the removal of the rear wire harness.
 (k)  
Disconnect the P18 connector (41) from the N1 speed sensor.

 (l)  
Remove the two nuts (22), the two bolts (40), and the two clamps (23).

 (m)  
Remove the three nuts (24), the three bolts (26), and the three clamps (25).

 (n)  
Install the bolt (26) and the nut (24) that attach the oil line to the load gearbox. 1) Tighten the nut (24) with your fingers.

 (o)  
Remove the two nuts (14), two bolts (38 and 39), and the two clamps (25).

 (p)  
Remove the two nuts (14), the two bolts (36), and the two clamps (37).

 (q)  
Disconnect the P17 connector (27) from the IGV actuator.

 (r)  
Disconnect the P15 connector (29) from the N2 speed sensor.

 (s)  
Remove the three nuts (14), the three bolts (35 and 36), the spacer (31), and the three clamps (28, 30, and 32).

 (t)  
Remove the bolt (6) and the clamp (32).

 (u)  
Remove the four screws (34) that attach the J2 connector (33) to the harness support bracket.
