A. The APU is equiped with one vent and twelve drains (Fig. 1, sheet 4). The APU vent collects an air/oil mixture with entrained oil from the No. 0 and No. 1 bearing seals and the AGB breather outlet. The air/oil mixture is routed to the exhaust duct and vented overboard.
B. Nine of the twelve drains are routed to a drain collector bracket on the bottom front of the load gearbox where the drains combine into four main drain lines. From this point the drains are routed through the APU firewall to a drain mast or to flush type discharge fittings on the fuselage. The air inlet plenum drain is mounted on the bottom of the air inlet plenum and drains water directly into the APU compartment. Also, the oil filler scupper drains oil from the oil filler neck directly into the APU compartment. The APU exhaust pipe has an independent drain that is connected to a flush type fuselage fitting which allows fuel and rainwater accumulations to drain from the exhaust pipe. . All drains are gravity fed.
Combustion Chamber Drain Valve (Fig. 1)

A. The combustion chamber drain valve is located at the six o'clock position on the gas generator case. It is connected to the drain system interface by means of a drain tube. A spring in the drain valve allows the accumulation of fuel in the combustion chamber to drain during static conditions.
Drain Mast (Fig. 1)

A. The drain mast is fastened to the lower right side of the fuselage forward of the APU compartment firewall. It is made from cast aluminum. The drain mast is the outlet of the fuel pump pad drain and the aft APU fuel line shroud drain. The drain masts function is to discharge any fuel drainage into the atmosphere away from the fuselage.
Aft APU Fuel Line Shroud Drain (Fig. 1)

A. The fuel line shroud is drained just forward of the APU firewall through the drain mast. The fuel line shroud runs between the rear spar and the APU firewall. For a more complete description of the fuel line shroud refer to 28-25-00, APU Fuel Feed System.
