Remove the drain valve (4) for the combustion chamber:
(a)
Disconnect the drain line (7) from the drain valve adapter (6).
(b)
Remove the drain valve assembly and the gasket (2) from the gas generator case. 1) Discard the gasket.
(c)
Remove the seal cover (1).
(d)
Remove the gasket (8) from the seal cover (1). 1) Discard the gasket.
(e)
Remove the retainer ring (3) from the groove in the drain valve adapter (6).
(f)
Remove the drain valve (4) and the spring (5) from the drain valve adapter (6).

(5) Install covers on the tubes and the openings to prevent contamination.

(1)
Install the drain valve (4):
(a)
Install the spring (5) in the hole of the drain valve adapter (6).
(b)
Put the drain valve (4) on the spring (5).
NOTE: The flat side of the drain valve must be out.

(c)
Push the drain valve (4) into the hole of the drain valve adapter (6).
(d)
Install the retainer ring (3) to hold the drain valve (4) in its position.
(e)
Install the gasket (8) onto the seal cover (1).
(f)
Install the valve assembly, the gasket (2), and the seal cover
(1)
in the gas generator case.
1) Tighten the valve assembly to 450-550 pound-inches (50.9-62.2 N.m).
(g) Connect the drain line (7) to the drain valve assembly. 1) Tighten the tube to 200-220 pound-inches (22.6-24.9 N.m).

Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars: 1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged. 2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars. 3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
(b)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
(d)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(e)
Close the APU access doors.
(f)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.
