COMBUSTION CHAMBER DRAIN VALVE - REPAIRS

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains a task to do easy repairs to the drain valve for the combustion chamber. The repair of the drain valve components includes the removal of small surface defects. These surface defects include nicks, burrs, scratches, scoring, and gouges.
B. The drain valve for the combustion chamber is on the bottom of the gas generator case. The drain valve connects to the drain system interface with a drain line. A spring in the drain valve lets the fuel in the combustion chamber drain during the stopped conditions.
C. You can get access to the drain valve for the combustion chamber through the APU access doors.

Repair the small defects in the drain valve:
(a)
Use a fine stone and a crocus cloth to do a blend repair of the small surface defects.
(b)
Make sure you remove all the sharp edges and the high points.

Repair the damaged threads on the adapter:
(a)
Repair the damaged thread with an applicable swiss file.
(b)
If it is necessary, you can chase the threads with an applicable die to repair them more.
