(1)
Visually examine the seal on the air inlet duct for cracks, tears and damage.
(a)
If the seal has cracks, tears or damage, replace the air inlet duct seal (AMM 49-15-02/401).

If the new or serviceable APU does not have the two APU generators installed, do these tasks: APU-Driven Generator Quick Attach-Detach (QAD) Ring Installation (AMM 24-21-02/401) and APU-Driven Generator Installation (AMM 24-21-03/401).

If the new or serviceable APU does not have the aft mount link installed, do this task: Aft Mount Link Installation (AMM 49-13-07/401).

Install the APU ground equipment (three fishpole hoists or APU hydraulic jackstand):

Install the three fishpole hoists (optional to the APU hydraulic jackstand) (Fig. 401):

WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THE THREE FISHPOLE HOISTS ARE IN A
SERVICEABLE CONDITION. THE THREE CABLES OR CHAINS OF
THE THREE FISHPOLE HOISTS MUST SHOW NO SIGNS OF
DAMAGE. USE A FLASHLIGHT TO EXAMINE THE CONDITION OF
THE KEYHOLE SLOT AREAS BEFORE THE INSTALLATION OF THE
HOISTS. A DAMAGED KEYHOLE SLOT AREA CAN CAUSE
INCORRECT SUPPORT OF THE APU. YOU CAN CAUSE INJURY
TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:_______ AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE THREE FISHPOLE
HOISTS IN THE KEYHOLE SLOTS CAN CAUSE THE HOISTS TO
DISENGAGE AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
THE APU.
CAUTION: THE TWO FORWARD HOIST ATTACH POINTS ARE THE SAME.
_______ THESE ATTACH POINTS ENGAGE FROM THE FORWARD SIDE OF THE KEYHOLE SLOT BRACKET. THE AFT HOIST ATTACH POINT IS ABOVE AND TO THE RIGHT OF THE APU. THIS ATTACH POINT IS ON A BRACKET INSTALLED BETWEEN THE STRUCTURAL FRAMES AT STATIONS 2725.13 AND 2733.89. YOU MUST INSTALL THE FISHPOLE HOIST KEY AT THE AFT HOIST ATTACH POINT FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE KEYHOLE SLOT BRACKET.
CAUTION: THE ATTACH POINT FOR THE SUPPORT STRAP AND APU
_______ EXHAUST PIPE IS APPROXIMATELY 13 INCHES (33 CM) AFT OF THE AFT FISHPOLE HOIST ATTACH POINT. THIS ATTACH POINT IS ON THE TOP CENTERLINE OF THE AIRPLANE FRAME. DO NOT USE THIS ATTACH POINT TO ENGAGE THE AFT FISHPOLE HOIST KEY.
1) Install the three fishpole hoists in the keyhole slots in the top structure of the APU compartment.
2) Make sure the three fishpole hoists are correctly installed in the keyhole slots.
3) Attach the two forward fishpole hoist cables or chains to the left and right front yokes.
4) Connect the rear mount sling to the two ground handling lugs on the sides of the APU.
5) Connect the rear mount sling to the aft fishpole hoist cable or chain.
6) Wind the three cables or chains of the three fishpole hoists a sufficient amount to make the cables or chains tight and there are no weight load on them.
7) Remove the two quick-release pins that attach the front yoke to the cradle.
8) Remove the two quick-release pins that attach the rear part of the cradle to the two APU ground handling lugs.
